Repair Windows 10 startup

L’System restart tool (Startup Repair) is a recovery tool capable of solving some system problems that may prevent Windows from starting.

The System Restart Tool scans your PC for the problem and then tries to resolve it automatically so that Windows 10 can boot properly. This tool can only fix certain issues, such as missing or damaged system files.

Repair Windows 10 startup

  1. When starting the PC, depending on your situation:
    • You arrive on the blue screen « Automatic repair »: click on the button Advanced options.
    • You do not have access to anything at all: start on the advanced startup options of Windows 10 (several methods are offered to achieve this).
  2. Then on Troubleshooting > Advanced options > System restart tool.
  3. Select your user account (with administrator rights) then enter your password.
  4. The System Restart Tool will then run a PC diagnostic and attempt to repair automatically.
  5. If Startup Repair is successful, you will have access to Windows 10 again.
  6. If Startup Repair fails, a summary of the problem appears in the log file SrtTrail.txt.

    In this case, you have two solutions:

    • Launch the System Restart Tool again: Click Advanced Options> System Restart Tool. Sometimes you have to run the tool up to 3 times and restart the PC each time to fix the startup problem.
    • Launch Windows 10 : Click Advanced options> Continue. Check if Windows 10 starts correctly.
